| Boy, did I have a week. I found out, by checking my emails here last Sunday, that an event I have been attending the past few years was happening on Tuesday, the 24:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v188/ralahinn1/holidaylunchparty2.jpg. Usually, they have it between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I was glad the day was clear, and I went, and hit all 6 buildings, lol. Most of the food was exelent. A few places( since they were suppose tobe representing the" best" of what they do) could have done better( the examples that come to mind of the best, mini crab cakes , crab bisque -which 3 companies did this year, but one had a lump of tasty crab in it and it was served in a martini glass, and some mini pastries. the worst was a kind of Tuna sandwich, crab dip wich was more salt and mayonaise than crab, some meat balls that tasted like they were out of a can instead of freashly made, and a rice dish which reminded me of rice a roni that wasn't exactly cooked fully). I liked most of the thinks, though the day was cold and rainy. I look forward to go again next year . Dot didn't come, she was suppose to look at a new apartment, but that didn't happen. Steve went, but she was ill. ********************** Wednesday, I had to go get my knee shot at the hospital. On the way back, someone on the bus was so violently ill that the driver stopped the bus and we all got off because the smell was so bad. She had to wait for a replacement bus. I told the driver that i hope it was a case of partying hard, and not H1N1. Dot called me to invite me over to their apartment for thanksgiving, and to meet Steves mom. ********************** Thursday , Thanksgiving. since I wasn't to go over to Dot and Steves, instead of cooking( and we decided that I'd do the cooking, since everything was thawed, on Sat.) and I wasn't expected until 5:00 pm, I went to wait for the salvation army truck( since Clarence invited me) .While I was waiting, one of the homeless men gave me an "extra" apple strudel that he'd had . I tried to refuse, but he insisted, so I thanked him. Some woman drove up and handed out trays of food. We thanked her. The salvation army truck came and gave us food for that day, and the next, since they weren't running the truck the next day. I thanked them, and pointed out to Clarence that there was a needle right next to the church, and someone should pick it up so no kid would find it.( I don't know why druggies have to do their stuff right next to a church). Later in the day, I got on the bus to go over to Dot's, and a homeless guy I know slightly( who I knew would be trouble ),told me to move from the seat i had just sat down in" because he didn't like me" ( lol, I really don't know that guy, but I have trouble with people like that alot) I stayed where I was, because until Sharia law gets imposed in the US, I don't intend to listen to any man that thinks he has the right to order me around. Anyway, the bus driver told him to behave himself, and I got my game out and ignored him. Meeting Steve's mom was ok. I has to" fudge" a few facts about my health, and Dot's living arangement, because Steve's mom still doesn't know that Dot is living there, but I didn't lie about anything I said(I just omited a few things) when she asked questions.I hate lies, and I don't like doing it myself. Dot, Steve, and I got our story in order ahead of time though, so it went ok. ******************* Friday, I went for another mamogram. I hope it went well. ******************* Yesterday, I did the cooking, only to have Dot tell me she was too ill to come. I got stuck with all that food, but I made the best of it. I hope Dot's better soon. We don't know if it's a bad cold, the flu, or what. |
